Breaking Barriers Radio Show #1 – Interview with Doc Griggs

Hey Champions!

Doc Griggs on Breaking Barriers Radio Show

On Friday night, July 22, 2016 from 8-9pm CDT, I aired the inaugural run of my Breaking Barriers Radio Show on New Orleans 102.3 FM WHIV (“We Honor Independent Voices”). The show was a huge success. I want to thank all the people who made this possible: my sweetheart, producer, and business partner: Dianne de Las Casas, my A/V technician: Eliana (Kid Chef Eliana), my awesome first show guest: Doc Griggs, and the radio station owner: Dr. MarkAlain Dery.

My show guest was the inspiring Doc Griggs. Here is more about Doc:

Dr. Eric Griggs, better known as Doc Griggs, is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame in 1992 and Tulane University School of Medicine in 1996. He lives in New Orleans and began the Doc Griggs health and wellness initiative, “Get checked. Get fit. Get moving!” The initiative is an educational and advocacy program that empowers individuals through information, demonstration, and activation. As a physician, Doc Griggs utilizes his medical knowledge to provide information and present it in a fun, informative manner. The goal is to provide participants with manageable action items that can make monumental changes in their lives. Doc appears weekly on Fox 8 WVUE’s Morning Edition as a Health Educator every Thursday morning at 7:30 AM. He also has a weekly radio broadcast every Thursday, “The Doc Griggs Show,” on WBOK 1230AM from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM and makes monthly appearances on “The Morning Show” with Oliver Thomas on that same station. In addition, he appears on his weekly internet show “Health Talk with Doc Griggs” every Tuesday on the New Orleans Talk Network from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. He is also the contributing medical writer for Data News Weekly, a local community paper. Wow!

Stay tuned for next week’s episode. Until next time…

Keep Breaking Barriers,
John
